As a young undergraduate of Biochemistry at Bristol University, for seemingly no reason, I started to suffer debilitating back and hip pain. As the pain escalated and became chronic, my life began to shrink and all the things that I enjoyed and kept me sane became further out of reach.
After 2 years of no answers or solutions from the many medical professionals I sought, I went on a mission to help myself. Years on I have found my own way out of pain using a combination of up-to-date research on the nervous system, pilates, and my burgeoning knowledge gained from my Biochemistry degree.
This unique method has truly transformed my life. Not only did I get my life back and recover from severe pain, but I continue to use these methods I’ve learnt to live a full life.
I have since been diagnosed with Hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome - a genetic disorder which is known to cause many sufferers pain, yet I remain in control and able to manage my own condition to live the life I want.
Knowing there are so many people suffering from chronic pain/symptoms, and that I can help, I quit my office job, and dedicated my career to helping people find a way out of their pain (and other chronic symptoms). Through this work you will find calm and build physical and mental strength.
I trained as a Pilates teacher with JPilates, which provides research based high quality face-to-face training and is a leading educator within the industry. JPilates strikes a balance between honouring the original Joseph Pilates repertoire and teaching a creative and evolved approach.
I qualified with a level 3 Diploma in Mat Pilates, and continue my professional development with JPilates and other educators through workshops, conventions, and regular pilates classes. My knowledge stays up-to-date and my teaching continues to develop for every person I work with.
